Our story · Dresden · Est. 2016
A house with a face.
Hörner is built and still run by its founder, Andre Hörner — from a Dresden garage in 2016 to your door today. Pens and leather, made beautifully and sold directly, so you pay for the make, not the markup.
Pay for the make.
Not the markup.
Most of what you pay for a luxury pen or a leather folder never reaches the leather.
It goes to the boutique on the corner, the distributor, the name on the bag. We started Hörner to cut that line short. Every piece goes straight from our workshop in Dresden to your desk — so the weight you feel in the hand is real cowhide and German engineering, never a marketing budget.
We run lean on purpose and we sell direct. That is the whole reason a Hörner piece can feel like it cost more than it did.
Andre Hörner
“From day one in that garage, the idea was simple: put your money where you can feel it — the leather, the nib, the stitch — and never into a markup you’ll never see.”
He still runs the house hands-on from Dresden — and still answers customer emails himself.
From a garage

- 2016
The garage.
Andre Hörner starts Hörner from a garage in Dresden — a one-man project selling rollerball and ballpoint pens directly, with no middleman in between.
- 2020
Pen, then paper.
Fountain pens join the line, followed by the first leather padfolios — the Berlin among them, cut in black and cognac.
- 2023
Leather, in full.
Laptop bags built from water-repellent top-grain cowhide arrive — the Dresden, made to carry a 16-inch machine and outlast the job it goes to.
- 2024
Everyday carry.
Wallets like the Solida follow, cut from the same thick cowhide — proof the workshop had grown from a desk into a house.
- Today
Three worlds.
Fine writing instruments, premium leather goods and watches, trusted by public authorities and family businesses, and over 100,000 customers.
- 2026
America.
